History
Alaskan Family Dental Center has been operating in downtown Wasilla for over 30 years! Dr. William Imlach opened up shop first and then passed the torch to Dr. Craig Mullett.
After practicing as an associate Dentist in Lewiston, Maine for 4 years, Dr. Calvin Kenley began looking for a way to return home to the Mat-Su Valley, where he was born and raised. Dr Kenley and his wife Natalie wanted to raise their children near Grandparents and cousins so they were thrilled to have the opportunity to purchase the practice from Dr. Mullett in 2020.
Dr. Kenley and his team offer the same level of compassionate care you have come to expect from Alaskan Family Dental Center.

Dr.Calvin Kenley, D.M.D.Doctor of Dental Medicine
Dr. Kenley grew up in Palmer and always dreamed of returning home to practice Dentistry in the Mat-Su Valley and raise his children here. After graduating from Roseman University of Health Sciences in 2016, he practiced dentistry as an Associate in Maine for 4 years. He had a wonderful experience on the East Coast and is now thrilled to be back home practicing in Wasilla.
Dr. Kenley is passionate about providing family dentistry to all ages and enjoys preventative, emergency, and cosmetic procedures.
Dr. Kenley is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Kenley and his wife Natalie have two sons who love to explore all that the beautiful State of Alaska has to offer! In his spare time, Dr. Kenley enjoys playing the piano and guitar and recording music with his family.

Gail Walden R.D.H.Registered Dental Hygienist
Gail has been with Alaskan Family Dental Center since 2005 and she is meticulous about our patient’s overall health care! Through routine visits, Gail helps our patients obtain their ideal oral health, while supporting them in establishing a solid home care program.
In her time away from the office, Gail likes to be outdoors enjoying what Alaska has to offer and spending time with her family and friends.

Cherie Cowin R.D.H.Registered Dental Hygienist
With 30+ years of experience as a Dental Hygienist in a variety of settings ranging from pediatrics to periodontics, Cherie Cowin has a passion for educating and motivating patients with preventive practices. She especially feels accomplished when she makes people comfortable and happy to receive care. Cherie, born and raised in Washington state, has lived in different parts of Alaska over the past 18 years. When not at the office she enjoys playing her violin, teaching violin, camping, hiking, swimming and spending time with her three college age children.
